The natural style of living is in. Of course, this also applies to cleaning. When cleaning natural stone coverings, value should always be placed on well-tolerated cleaning agents. Corrosive substances are not recommended. Stubborn stains on natural stone flooring are best removed with a special basic cleaner for natural stone.
With just a few simple steps and a small amount of effort, you can do a lot to preserve natural stone flooring with daily maintenance.
To make it easier to clean the natural stone covering, it should be impregnated in advance. Thanks to the nano effect, dirt and co. hardly have a chance to penetrate the stone. Liquids roll off the surface and nothing penetrates into the stone. Thus, on the one hand, the beautiful appearance of natural stone coverings is preserved and, on the other hand, small mishaps can be quickly eliminated. You can thus protect and maintain the natural stone without much effort. In order to maintain the protection in the long term, natural stone coverings should be re-impregnated every four years. In busy rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens, impregnation is necessary at shorter intervals. For the rest, tiles made of marble do not need to be impregnated. If you have decided on a natural stone floor made of living colored slate, then a color intensifier is an option. This effectively brings out the natural colors and structure and also has a water-repellent effect. There are no gloss effects and dirt and co. are effectively kept away from the natural stone flooring. In this way, the color of the natural stone covering can be intensified in the long term.
When cleaning natural stone coverings, vinegar or lemon cleaners should always be avoided. The same also applies to cleaning agents containing surfactants. According to experts, mildly alkaline agents or natural stone cleaners for wiping should be used for cleaning. With a commercial cleaning, which is ph-neutral, one can not only clean well, but also extend the effect of the impregnation. A soft shimmer is created on the natural stone surfaces, which brings out the effect of the stones well. Before cleaning, it is advisable to pre-clean the natural stone coverings with a broom or soft brush.
- If one uses a vacuum cleaner for cleaning, then an appropriate soft brush should always be used.
- Brooms used for quick sweeping should have soft bristles.
- In entrance areas, the natural stone flooring should be protected in advance by using dirt-trapping mats. In this way, the first coarse dirt is caught and not distributed over the entire floor.
- Floors made of marble quickly become dull and unsightly when mopped with water. This is due to the lime in the water. With a marble cleaner, you can quickly give the natural stone floor back its old shine.
